What are Anti Wrinkle Products ?
One of the scariest things associated with ageing, which is of course a
natural phenomenon, is the fact of developing wrinkles. When our skin is
young, its cells are in a process of constant rejuvenation. Thus the
skin is soft, smooth and firm. However, with the course of time, this
process gradually diminishes. Initially the skin develops a few lines
around the corner of the eyes and the mouth. These with time slowly turn
into deep creases and eventually wrinkles. To avoid this, salons and
parlors recommend special facial massages with lemon which are believed
to possess the ability of reversing the ageing process. However, these
treatments are not enough.
About a decade ago, these wrinkles were controlled by the usage of Botox,
a powerful botulism toxin that was injected in the body or the face.
However, this is an expensive and painful process and not always
satisfactory.
This gave birth to anti wrinkle creams which primarily contain Vitamin A
or Retinol that enhances this skin renewal process and hence reduces the
appearance of wrinkles. Today, we notice the advertisement of
innumerable Anti Wrinkle products on the newspapers, television,
magazines and even on the internet. All the cosmetic companies claim to
fight this ageing process with their products which are less expensive
and painless, unlike their medical counterparts like Botox and collagen
injections.
Companies like Janson Beckett Cosmaceuticals have launched their anti
wrinkle creams like alphaDerma CE. This odorless and rapid absorbing
cream operates on the same principle as that of Botox, by soothing the
muscles and smoothing out the lines and creases. The key component in
this above mentioned product is Argireline (the chemical name is acetyl
hexapeptide-ah) which is responsible for soothing the muscles.
